Art permeates our Design work just as Design permeates our artistic work.

Especially in exhibitions, we had our art expressed with more consistency and freedom.

Engravings, tactile pictures, compositions of the most varied materials such as our Great Pine Pine Curtain, in black velvet with sewn craft paper pinions, or prints on fabrics, etc. So we brought to represent our art 2 works of ours currently exposed to the public.

A Semente, installed in the Ópera de Arame, in Parque das Pedreiras and the Jardim Espírito Feminino - Não Pise nas Flores, located at the foot of the Farol do Saber das Cidades above Parque das Pedreiras.

And on this journey of ours, it is the station where we have just disembarked.

Maybe that's why we brought flowers.

Seed

We appropriated the harmony of a regular dodecahedron, which for Plato, who sought to explain the creation of the Universe from geometry, was the most harmonic of solids and represented the Cosmos. Eleven of its twelve faces are formed by two 1mm thick laser-cut steel surfaces that frame a transparent acrylic sheet colored by the application of a yellow translucent adhesive film. On these faces we represent a bunch of flowers, cut in steel, using the same flower that is repeated. We use the technique of filling surfaces with repeating figures that fit perfectly, using a single flower repeated 60 times. With this, the piece creates an internal volume immersed in yellow light, like the inside of a flowering ipê tree. The size of the work allows a person to enter its interior and have a moment of connection with native nature through art, by immersion in colored light and observation of the repeated flowers. To induce concentration , the person needs to bend down to enter the work.

A subtle expansion of consciousness will occur when feeling inside a flowering ipê tree. What is expected is that, from then on, when these people see a flowering tree, they will transport themselves inside it, experiencing a moment of deep and consistent expansion of consciousness, towards the native personal heritage.

The Seed has 12 faces with pentagons 1.17 m high and 0.75 m on an edge. Each steel face is treated by galvanization and electrostatic painting creating protection for outdoor installation. Despite the durability of the work, all of its materials can be recycled.

The seed is 2.10 m high and is about 2.80 m high when installed, suspended or supported on steel feet. It weighs a little over 80 kilos. The assembly uses 150 steel angle brackets and 420 stainless steel bolts and nuts. The design of the piece was conceived to facilitate assembly and disassembly.

Semente was installed at Ópera de Arame, in Curitiba, opening Spring, on September 22, 2022.

Feminine Spirit

A large flower mandala with flowers.

In our feminine spirit, everything is flowers as it should be.

And treated with great affection and consideration, as it should be.

When cared for or even fallen, they should not be stepped on, also as it should be.

This Garden happened in a surprising way.

With the implementation of Semente, opening Spring 2022 at Ópera de Arame, we also proposed opening Spring in a public Garden as a tribute to the feminine spirit and in recognition of the work of City Hall staff in maintaining the city’s gardens during Covid.

Even in the pandemic, Curitiba's gardens remained beautiful.

In this spirit, we proposed to the City Hall staff the installation of the Feminine Spirit Don't Step on the Flowers.

Our disposition was that the installation took place even at our expense.

In practice, a series of positive events mobilized those involved in such a way that everything happened surprisingly and flawlessly, with consistent gains for all those involved and society.

We did something remarkable and demanding for everyone but that satisfied us in the end

There are 7 identical flowers fitted precisely and their petals have movement, with sinuous lines, but that fit together.

On the floor the marking needs to be perfect.

It was a rainy season and we could not mark the grass with lime. To do this, we used more than 2000 barbecue skewers to mark the flowers, leaving a passage of grass in the contour lines of each flower to facilitate maintenance and even allowing people to enter the garden carefully, without stepping on the flowers. What a unique feeling. Being surrounded by beautiful flowers .

Today, in Curitiba, we have a wonderful garden with around 10,000 flowers in 200 m² planted, which only happened and happens because each one of us takes it as our own.

The Feminine Spirit was ready on October 1, 2022.
